Ladies and Gentlemen –
I had something else planned for this article, but it will be delayed while we talk about the latest from the NCAA regarding Penn State.
By now you have all read about it or heard about it
The NCAA imposed serious penalties against Penn State University over the Jerry Sandusky fiasco.
But before we go on let me remind you all of a few things
This “volunteer” organization is entrusted to govern collegiate athletics…
They sure do make a lot of money off collegiate athletics
And by “a Lot” of money I mean they make so damn much money they don’t even know how much they take in, at least that’s what they told the United States Congress last year.
Yeah, they told Congress they don’t know “for sure” how many billions of dollars they make…
That’s right I said Billions
The Harvard School of Business ranks the NCAA as the Number One Monopoly in the Country
They rank them ahead of Microsoft and OPEC….
That’s really saying something
They say they “care” about the Student-Athlete, but we know they really don’t, not in the least.
But let me go back to something real quick….
They are “supposed” to govern Colligate Athletics right?
That’s it
So what NCAA rules did Penn State violate?
What took place at Penn State was a legal matter that has been decided in court: Period
Case Closed.
Well, that is until the civil “damage” trials are completed and Penn State pays the victims in this tragedy millions and millions and millions of dollars.
What happened at Penn State had nothing to do with the jurisdiction of the NCAA
Got you with that one didn’t I?
Now before some of my victimologist readers rise up on their back legs and begin to howl at the moon….
Let me say this…
You can say whatever you want and disagree with me if you would like, but there is something far worse that is going on here and it slipped right passed our collective noses.
The NCAA has moved from collegiate athletics and has now assumed the role of Moral Dictator over all Colleges and Universities. You don’t think so?
Look at what they did to Penn State
The NCAA sent a clear message to all Universities in their all “volunteer” organization that anything we want to punish you for, we will…..
Somebody in some athletic department cries “Discrimination”……
The Mighty NCAA will step in to punish your college or university
Somebody on an athletic team screams that Homosexuals are being joked about….
The Morality Police of the NCAA will come to your university and drop the hammer
Somebody is offended that some athletes are praying before they take the court or field
The NCAA will come to the offended parties rescue and crush the Praying Christians
You don’t think so?
Well let me say this
I am a simple man and I can give references to support that claim
With that being said, I believe there are only three kinds of people in this World
There are Sheep, Wolves and Sheepdogs
The Wolves prey on the Sheep, because that’s what they do and that’s who they are
The Sheepdogs try to protect the Sheep from the Wolves and will lay down their lives for the Sheep
With all that being said….
We have a lot of wolves in our midst today
But this article is about the NCAA, so I will stick to that topic for now
The Wolves in the NCAA has seized power that isn’t theirs to seize.
They imposed penalties and fines on Penn State with no regard for the current student-athletes and coaches at the university and most importantly….
They have no jurisdiction and no authoritative power to impose such penalties
The only thing they have is threats and intimidation
Which reminded me of something….
You know it wasn’t all that long ago some other folks where faced with a similar situation
A strong authoritative “government” had imposed fines and penalties on the people
That government seized power and usurped the will of the people
They acted as Dictator and Moral Police to subjugate their “institutional members”
When the people had had enough some of the folks wrote this….
“ That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
