It has finally happened.
Hell has frozen over…..
A University north of the Ohio River is in trouble with the NCAA….
EDITORS NOTE: Yes, you read that correctly
Coach Jim Tressel was forced to resign from THE Ohio State University this past weekend.
The river of problems running through Buckeye land is reported to run deep and muddy.
It would seem the NCAA smells blood in the water in Columbus, but as Coach Lee Corso would say…
“Not so fast my friend”
Before the folks in Ann Arbor decide to declare a national holiday, let me remind you all of a very simple fact. Despite numerous NCAA violations from a number of schools in the Big Ten, I mean eleven or is it twelve? To say nothing of the home of the Golden Gnomes past indiscretions, there has never (Not ever) been any penalties of any substance handed down by the NCAA to any of these institutions.
O’ sure the NCAA Politically Correct Police made the University of Illinois get rid of that nasty raciest Chief Illiniwek and I think we can all agree the nation is a better place for that change.
EDITORS NOTE: In case you couldn’t notice, that was sarcasm.
But there has never (Not ever) been any real penalties handed down to any of those northern schools.
Why you may ask?
Could it be because the Ivory Towers of the NCAA are located in the Heart of Big Ten, I mean Eleven or is it Twelve Country? Maybe it’s because far too many “former” Big Ten folks are on the Board of Compliance and Appeals with the NCAA.
As you may recall former NCAA President Myles “Satan’s Imp” Brand was the former President of Indiana University and my goodness didn’t he love to hire his cronies for all the various departments.
That was so wonderful of Myles to do so, don’t you think?

So with that being said I wouldn’t start dancing in the streets of the Motor City any time soon.
EDITORS NOTE: Actually I wouldn’t advocate doing that anytime.
Detroit makes Beirut seem safe.
Time will tell if this is a witch hunt, cover up or the real thing.
But I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting on the NCAA to drop the hammer.
However I do know one thing for certain…..
There some folks in Auburn Alabama that are real nervous…..
